The Football Transfer Tavern has opened to reports from The Guardian this morning that new Manchester United boss David Moyes is ready to raid his former club Everton to sign Marouane Fellaini in the summer.

The Belgian international has a £24 million release clause and that will be no problem for the Old Trafford outfit who are looking to make a statement on intent after the retirement of legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson at the end of the current season.

Moyes is eager to add some reinforcements to the United midfield after the second retirement of Paul Scholes and the tough-tackling midfielder fits the bill

Fellaini often started as a number 10 for Everton this season but Moyes is thought to view his best position as a deep-lying midfielder.

Whether or not Moyes will escalate his interest in Fellaini remains to be seen but it would be blow to the Toffees as they look to rebuild following the loss of their long-serving boss.

Will the big-haired midfielder follow Moyes to Old Trafford? Rate this rumour below.
