West Ham supporters have been somewhat despondent in the Transfer Tavern this week after seeing their team easily beaten 4-1 by Champions League chasing Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday, thus slipping to just three points clear of the division’s bottom three.
David Moyes’ men went into their clash with the in-form Reds off the back of a crucial 2-0 victory over Watford in their previous league encounter, a result which moved the East London outfit up to 12th in the table and as such putting some distance between themselves and the relegation zone. Yet that gap now stands at just three points as goals from Emre Can, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane secured a comprehensive success for the Merseyside giants, with Michail Antonio’s second half response all the travelling Hammers fans had to cheer on a unsatisfactory afternoon at Anfield.
Thus, there have been many frustrated West Ham fans in the Tavern in the last few days, several of whom are already turning their attentions towards their side’s vital relegation six-pointer at Swansea City this weekend.
In the meantime though, there has been much for our resident Hammers supporters to get their teeth into, not least a recent open letter from Karren Brady to West Ham Groups United regarding their plans for the future of the East London club.
The Hammers vice-chairman, alongside co-chairmen David Gold and David Sullivan, helped the club move into the London Stadium back in 2016, this all after finishing seventh in their final campaign at Upton Park the season before.
Yet the club’s owners have come under heavy scrutiny from the club’s supporters in recent times over a wide range of issues, some of which Brady sought to address in an open letter to West Ham Groups United following a meeting earlier this week.
