West Ham supporters remain pretty buoyant in the Transfer Tavern a week on from their vital 2-0 success over Watford in the Premier League, a result which moved them up to 12th place in the division with just 11 games to go.
David Moyes’ men went into their clash with the Hornets off the back of going down 3-1 away to fellow strugglers Brighton in their preceding league encounter, which brought to an end their run of six league games without defeat. Yet the Hammers got back to winning ways last weekend as goals from Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic secured a routine victory for the East London outfit, thus moving them level on points with Javi Gracia’s Watford in the Premier League table, four points clear of the bottom three.
Consequently, there are many happy Hammers fans in the Tavern at present, and they will be hoping that their team can make it back-to-back wins when they travel to Champions League chasing Liverpool on Saturday.
In the meantime though, there has been much for our resident West Ham fans to discuss, not least a recent tweet from club co-chairman David Gold suggesting that striker Andy Carroll could return from injury before the end of the current campaign.
The 29-year-old hasn’t featured for the club since their 1-1 draw with Tottenham back on January 4, with an ankle problem threatening to bring his season to a premature end.
Yet co-chairman Gold suggests that the England international may make a return before the conclusion of the campaign, in news which has stimulated quite a response from Hammers fans on Twitter.
Information. Andy Carroll could be back before the end of the season. dg https://t.co/tVZPfrVPXR

And many of them are saying the same thing regarding the striker’s recent update, namely to get him fit and then sell him in the summer…
Get him fit and get him sold. Liability £100k + a week and spends more time injured

Don’t bother

Rather he didn’t, keep him fit and sell in the summer. If he plays he’ll get injured and we’ll be stuck with him another season. I do not want to see him in our squad next season, bored of him now. See ya Carroll, thanks for the ‘effort’ but enough enough.

Dont bother, he’ll only get injured and we wont be able to flog him in Summer
— Colin Archer (@Antiguamann) February 20, 2018
Only to get injured so we can’t sell him.
— John Hatton (@JohnHatton8) February 20, 2018
I hope he’s kicked his last ball for us
— David Lefranc (@frenchey226) February 20, 2018
couldn’t care less tbh, sell him after the season please
— Trym Riise (@trymriise) February 20, 2018
