The Tottenham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are loving life under Mauricio Pochettino…
The Argentine boss has built Tottenham into a breeding ground for top quality talent, having not only brought players through the Spurs developmental system – but also brought young players from afar; only to turn them into world class players thereafter.
For some, a trip straight into the first team is the perfect route. Dele Alli came to Tottenham from the Football League – and came into the first team during his first full season with the club.
However, for the majority – a period on loan awaits. Tottenham’s first team squad is simply too strong and they will not get a chance – and our landlord thinks that a loan is the best way for them to develop.
With that said, Pochettino simply must loan out these TWO Tottenham players in January…
Marcus Edwards

This was a controversial call in the Tavern, as the Tottenham faithful are huge fans of Edwards – but in order to fully continue his development; a short spell out on loan could do him wonders.
He has proven that he can do a job in the Spurs first team this year – but it appears unlikely that he will be a starter anytime soon.
Given the vast breadth of offensive depth that Pochettino has at his disposal, Edwards is likely near the bottom of his pecking order – and this could harm his development.
He has gotten a taste of Premier League football, and that is great – but 6 months playing in a top League in England or in Europe could do him wonders.
He should then return at the end of the season – ready for the 2017/18 campaign as he looks to become the surprise package next season.
Harry Winks

Harry Winks is certainly thought highly of by the Tottenham brace, given that he recently signed a new deal with the club – but in much the same case as Edwards – Tottenham are just blessed with so much midfield talent.
He is never going to get a game ahead of the likes of Wanyama, Alli or Dier – and that is disrupting his chances of regular game time down the road.
He has all the talent to make it at the highest level – but Pochettino needs to give him the platform to succeed.
The Football League could be a great option for Winks.
