Just a few seasons ago, the midfielder was largely considered a disappointment – having failed to live up the expectations that came with his big move to the London outfit.
Largely utilised as a winger, the Ox, as he has become affectionately known in the Transfer Tavern, had struggled to hold down a place in the Arsenal first team – but with circumstance has come opportunity this season, and he has grabbed it with both hands.
Playing slightly more centrally alongside regular roles on the flanks, the midfielder has been very impressive this season – and whilst his team has largely struggled, the 23-year-old has been one of the few players to impress the fans in the Transfer Tavern.
It seems likely that a few clubs will be on alert this summer, then, with sources reportedly revealing to ESPN that the midfielder is ready to leave the club this summer.
Of course, this rumour comes amidst reports that the likes of Sanchez and Wenger could leave at the end of the season – with their certainly a feeling of finality amongst the Arsenal fans in the pub.
The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are listening in with keen ears, with many feeling that the Englishman would make a perfect offensive partner to N’Golo Kante in the midfield.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has made 11 Premier League starts this season, scoring twice and assisting 4 times.
