The Manchester United fans have been regular attendees in the Transfer Tavern this week, following their 3-2 win against Southampton in the EFL Cup Final last weekend.

The ardent supporters have been partying hard this week and the Tavern even had to pop down the road to borrow a barrel of beer from a rival pub at one stage, such was the volume of ale being supped by the jovial United faithful.

United’s win at Wembley last weekend ensured that Jose Mourinho became the first Manchester United boss to win a trophy in his first season in charge and also appeased supporters after a somewhat tricky maiden campaign under the Portuguese boss.

The little Spaniard is part of everything good about Manchester United and the team look much more fluid when he is in the starting line-up.

The former Chelsea man offers creativity in abundance and against a Bournemouth side severely lacking in confidence, Mata could be just the player to utilise this weekend.

With the United player coming to the end of his days at the club, Mourinho should look to choose Rooney’s games wisely and one of them could be against Bournemouth this weekend.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is in scintillating form but now could be the perfect opportunity to hand the Swede a rest at the expense of Rooney.
