According to The Sun, Sunderland boss David Moyes is set to try and sign one of the Black Cats’ former players in the shape of Yann M’Vila, with our resident Wearsiders here in the Transfer Tavern hoping that will help them get out of the relegation zone.
M’Vila was a midfielder for the men from the Stadium of Light last season but left in the summer for Russian side Rubin Kazan, yet it appears a swift U-turn could be on the cards under new manager David Moyes.
Talks are believed to be underway over the French international, who has seen his stock drop over the years.
The reported hope is to sign the player on a loan deal at least until the end of the season and then, depending on whether or not the club stay up and secure the wealth that comes with being in the top flight, aiming to get him on a more permanent deal next summer.
The Black Cats are once again locked in a relegation battle this season and head into the weekend six points off of West Ham who occupy the last place of safety.
They know, then, they cannot get out of the bottom three this weekend but a win against fellow strugglers Hull City on Saturday would surely boost morale and help generate further momentum.
