Italian champions Napoli are keen to sign Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling on loan this summer. The Serie A side have already signed Sterling’s ex Manchester City teammate Kevin De Bruyne this summer while also boasting several former Premier League stars including Scott McTominay, Romelu Lukaku, and Billy Gilmour.
The Sun has reported that Napoli now want to make Sterling the newest Premier League addition to the side, but could face difficulty as Chelsea seek a permanent solution. Napoli are reportedly seeking terms similar to Sterling’s loan to Arsenal last season.
Sterling is on a massive £325,000-per-week contract with Chelsea, and last season the Blues paid a significant portion of these wages while Sterling joined Arsenal on loan. The 30 year old was seldom used by Mikel Arteta and is now in search of another fresh start.
Juventus, Bayer Leverkusen, and Premier League rivals Fulham are also understood to be interested in the player.
Napoli offer Sterling a fresh start

Napoli are in search of reinforcements on the wing, and have turned their attention to Sterling after being frustrated in their efforts to sign Bologna winger Dan Ndoye.
Ndoye is also a target for Nottingham Forest, and Napoli are reportedly losing patience with the lack of progress in discussions. They see Sterling as an experienced alternative.
Sterling may be tempted to test himself in a new environment, having spent his entire career in England. Former Manchester rival Scott McTominay has enjoyed a revival of sorts since arriving in Naples, playing a pivotal role in last season’s success with his goals and assists from midfield.
Sterling may take motivation from that, as well as relishing a reunion with De Bruyne who he combined well with at City. He was deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea ahead of last season by manager Enzo Maresca, and that will only be emphasized more by the arrivals of Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro this summer.
