Newcastle are less than two weeks away from the start of their 2019/20 season and the players are pushing hard on the training ground.
The club’s official Instagram account has uploaded some snaps of the team during their latest session at Darsley Park. Their training was followed by a pre-season friendly against Middlesbrough, a game in which Steve Bruce’s side seriously struggled.

Newcastle were beaten 5-1 at Rockliffe Park yesterday, with Allan Saint-Maximin scoring their only goal of the match.

The Instagram post has attracted a lot of questions from fans. Many are wondering as to Joelinton’s wherabouts, as he isn’t pictured during the latest session and didn’t partake in the fixture against ‘Boro either.
Others are asking about the current status of transfer target Marcao, who could be joining the Tyneside club from Galatasaray in this window.
Echoing a similar sentiment on the transfer front, a few other Magpies are enquiring about Rob Holding and his potential loan move from Arsenal. Newcastle are yet to spend any money on new signings this transfer window but have welcomed Mark Gillespie and Jeff Hendrick, who both arrived as free agents.
The Toon will now look ahead to their final pre-season friendly against Stoke City on Saturday before West Ham host them at the London Stadium for their first match of the new campaign a week later.
