Andy Carroll has made a joke about the recent talks surrounding a potential Matt Ritchie Newcastle exit.
The midfielder was heavily involved in the Toon’s mission to sign major transfer target Callum Wilson. With Tottenham Hotspur also keen to snap up the striker, Newcastle were reportedly willing to offer up Ritchie to strike a swap deal with Bournemouth.

However, fortunately for Magpies fans, Wilson signed for the club without the need to offload Ritchie in return. The former Cherries frontman recently penned a four-year deal with the Tyneside outfit worth £20million (via BBC Sport).
In a recent Instagram upload, £2.8million-valued veteran Carroll has joked about Ritchie leaving the club. In the video he says: “Ritchie to Bournemouth? Don’t think so. We bring Bournemouth to Ritchie!”

Not only did Newcastle land a deal for Wilson, but they also snapped up his Cherries teammate Ryan Fraser who joined the club as a free agent.
The video shows the two former Bournemouth attackers having lunch with Carroll and Ritchie. Fans have flooded the comments laughing about the joke and many are glad to see the left-back stay with the Toon.
Newcastle will prepare to open up their 2020/21 Premier League season with their first match against West Ham.
