Newcastle fans on Twitter already fearing relegation

Newcastle United are a club in a crisis. In yesterday’s late kick-off at Old Trafford, The Magpies were in dreamland when they took a 2-0 lead inside ten minutes. However, the fans elation was short-lived as United came back to beat the struggling Geordies 3-2 and now the Newcastle fans are predicting relegation for their side.

With a leaky defence and a worrying lack of goals, #NUFC now need to win 12 of the remaining 30 games to stand any chance of staying up. Big ask?

To stay in the Premier League everybody talks about the 40-point mark. Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle are currently sitting on two points after eight games and it’s difficult to see where the other 38 points that they’ll need to stay up will come from. So far, the only points they’ve had have come from goalless draws against Cardiff and Crystal Palace and unless that changes soon, they could be left in a dogfight at the bottom.

The only reprieve for Newcastle fans at the moment is that despite their shocking start to the season, they are only three points off of safety and if they somehow managed a turn around in form then they could easily pull themselves out of their current rut. Both Cardiff and Huddersfield have also suffered horrible starts to the season and Rafa Benitez will remain optimistic that he can pull his side out of the bottom three over the course of the season.
