The news was announced yesterday that Newcastle United have gained a new commercial partner in eToro and with the deal being paid in bitcoin, the first and largest cryptocurrency. eToro allows customers to invest in cryptoassets alongside more traditional financial instruments and fans can read more on the Newcastle website.

The fans have very little faith in Mike Ashley to pump real money back into the club, let alone cryptocurrency and they’ll be hoping that by some miracle the club might actually see some of the benefit of this new commercial partner. That’s very unlikely, though, and the fans will continue in their crusade against Ashley and his cronies as they aim to free the club from his stranglehold.
Most supporters are already frustrated that they don’t receive any money from Sports Direct even though the business’ logo is plastered all over their home at St James Park. The fans will now have to put up with more advertising with this eToro partnership and whilst they’ll definitely be receiving money from the company, they probably won’t be lucky enough to see that reimbursed into the club.

The fans would love to see a breakdown of what money their club’s receiving from their different sponsorships and partners but it seems that won’t happen whilst Ashley has control of the club.
