According to The Daily Mail, Newcastle United have been offered Iranian left-back Milad Mohammadi by Akhmat Grozny. The 25-year-old left-back could be used to solve Rafa Benitez’s crisis at the back, as Paul Dummett is currently the Magpies only recognised left-back and has had his injury problems this season.
#NUFC are aiming to blow Celtic & Rangers out of the water to solve their left-back problems with the signing of 25-year-old Milad Mohammadi. Mohammadi is out of contract at Akhmat Grozny this summer and United could try & land the defender for a cut-price fee. [Football Insider]

Most fans won’t have heard of Milad Mohammadi before, but they will all be aware of him. The Iranian is the man who famously tried, and failed, to pull off a roly-poly throw-in at the World Cup before instantly becoming a hit on social media for his efforts. However, he’ll be hoping any move to Newcastle can be more successful than his attempted long-throw back over the summer.
The defender’s contract with Akhmat Grozny is up in the summer, and that’s why these links have come about, however, it’s hard to see a way in which Newcastle pull this one off unless they’re the only interested club, seeing as they very rarely pip anybody to anyone. This transfer, though, is one that looks right up Mike Ashley’s street as it would be a cut-price deal for a player in a league that isn’t notorious for paying massive wages.

Let’s be honest #NUFC would struggle to blow #Gateshead or #Blyth out of the transfer water

The thought of us blowing anyone out of the water

The Magpies have little faith in signing anyone and that extends to this Iranian left-back who’s out of contract in the summer.
