According to ChronicleLive, Valentino Lazaro is hopeful Newcastle United’s FA Cup win over West Bromwich Albion will ensure the Black and Whites can turn around their Premier League form, and as expected plenty of Magpies have taken to Twitter to ridicule his comments.
Steve Bruce’s side make the long trip to St Mary’s this weekend to take on Southampton buzzing after bouncing back from a dispiriting draw against Burnley with a tight 3-2 victory at the Hawthorns.
Speaking to reporters, the 23-year-old said “the whole day was very important for us, the whole feeling, but now we have to transfer that to the Premier League.”
Despite the positive vibes, Newcastle last won in the league at home to Chelsea back in January, although the Geordie side did manage to score 2 goals in a draw with Everton at Goodison Park (Transfermarkt).
Unsurprisingly loads of the Toon Army have been reacting to the Inter Milan loan signing’s interview, with some fans poking fun at the club’s transfer policy. Another simply said “this will come back to haunt him.”
