Newcastle United are expected to have a busy summer of recruitment ahead of their Champions League campaign next season, and they have finally got the ball rolling on making moves.
The Magpies had a quiet opening few weeks of the transfer window, but David Ornstein revealed on Tuesday that they had a £45m bid rejected for Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga.
Despite only making one confirmed attempt so far, the club has been linked to numerous players who could add fantastic experience, quality and depth to both their attacking threat and defensive set-up.
Marc Guehi continues to be a player associated with a Tyneside move due to being in the last 12 months of his contract, while Johan Bakayoko and Karim Adeyemi have been named as targets to boost the front three.
Today, The Telegraph journalist Luke Edwards took to the social platform X to reveal that Newcastle have launched bids for three Premier League stars:
“EXCLUSIVE Newcastle launch triple bids for Pedro, Trafford and Elanga #nufc”
Following up his tweet in an article, Edwards claims that all three players are interested in a move to Newcastle, which could cost them a whopping £125m to complete.
The journalist reports that £50 million deals are being discussed for both Pedro and Elanga, while the current offer for Trafford stands at £25 million plus add-ons.
Wage demands are not expected to be an issue, though there is still work left to do to negotiate on the current valuations set by their clubs.
Will Newcastle sign players this summer?

Newcastle haven’t signed a new first-team player in 18 months, having struggled with PSR restrictions that made recruiting talent extremely challenging.
Their patience and smart outgoing business have finally given them the financial flexibility to spend this summer, and it couldn’t have come at a better time, following the season they’ve just had.
Thanks to their Carabao Cup victory and Champions League qualification, a move to become part of the ambitious project in the North East has never been more attractive.
As a result, the club should have little trouble attracting Premier League players like Trafford, Elanga and Pedro, all of whom will be well aware of the remarkable progress made since the Saudi-led takeover.
All things considered, it promises to be an exciting summer for the St James’ Park faithful.
If the club can land some much-needed signings in key positions, they’ll be well placed to compete across all competitions next season.
