According to a report from L’Equipe via Sport Witness, Newcastle United target Boubakary Soumare is now being ‘penalised‘ after refusing a move to the Magpies in the January window – with supporters taking this news as ‘just more lies‘.
Soumare, who has averaged an impressive 90% pass accuracy over 15 Ligue 1 starts this season, has also been likened to Paul Pogba in the past – with this report from the Chronicle stating that Newcastle were close to signing the youngster back in January.
However, the move failed to materialise, with the saga over his move now cropping up again due to the revelation that the player refused to sign on Tyneside. L’Equipe state that Soumare could be punished for refusing the Premier League move, with Newcastle supporters dismissing the report on Twitter.

Compared to current Magpies midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, while Soumare clearly comes out on top when it comes to pass accuracy (90%), the Englishman has bagged five goals from midfield whilst also making more key passes (1.8), as per WhoScored.com.
