Newcastle United: Craig Hope reveals info from Premier League amid takeover

Craig Hope has revealed some information from the Premier League with regards to the proposed takeover of Newcastle United in a tweet posted from his official Twitter page.

As per the Daily Mail journalist, sources from inside the top flight have apparently said that an ‘announcement is close’ in relation to the prospective bid, as he also added that there is expectation that the £300 million deal between Mike Ashley and Amanda Staveley’s Saudi Arabian-led group will be approved by England’s highest division.

Hope also referred to the fresh claim from former Sky Sports now beIN Sports presenter Richard Keys that the takeover will happen on Friday from what he has been told as per his online blog.

However, the writer did bring his followers somewhat back down to earth by highlighting that they have all ‘been here before’ in terms of claims of when the bid will be approved, adding that ‘we’ll see’ in reference to the fresh claims being thrown about:

Nevertheless, some members of the Toon faithful may be encouraged by Hope’s tweet as well as the statement from Keys as the signs look to be pointing toward the approval of the deal as early as this week.

However, the final decision from the league has not been confirmed as of yet, meaning that the official announcement on whether the buying side can move into St. James’ Park is still some time away.

Nonetheless, some NUFC fans may have been given some fresh optimism that the takeover will eventually go through, it may just be a matter of time.
