Following a 1-0 defeat to Burnley at the weekend with Chris Wood scoring the only goal of the game and Dwight Gayle missing a crucial chance to equalise, ending their brief unbeaten streak, Newcastle United supporters are now faced with potentially crucial takeover news.

GACP Capital, who have reportedly (per the Chronicle) been in negotiations with the club over a takeover, have just sold their stake in Ligue 1 outfit, Bordeaux, as confirmed on their official website – potentially freeing up a swoop to land a majority share in the Magpies.
Past takeover rumours with the likes of Amanda Staveley and Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan eventually fell through – with various factors such as Mike Ashley’s requirements or not meeting the acceptable standard resulting in a potential takeover not taking place.
Taking this into account, despite the potentially huge news regarding GACP Capital, most Magpies supporters have adopted a strong scepticism surrounding most updates when it comes to the club’s potential salvation – having been let down so much in the past.
Here’s how they dismissed the latest rumours on Twitter.
This might be controversial but I’d rather Ashley stay than another big money making machine come in and try to make a quick buck. Someone with passion buy the Toon!!!

Amazing that the transfer window is around the corner. Another take over saga that won’t happen.
