Many Newcastle United fans have discussed a takeover report from ChronicleLive that highlights that the Tyneside club’s would-be owners are expecting to get a green light from the Premier League owner’s and director’s test as they close to their final stages.
The next step will be the transfer of the remaining funds to complete the deal from Amanda Staveley and PCP Capital Partners, the Reuben brothers and most importantly Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).

As per the article, sources close to the owners are still confident that the bid will still go through despite the emergence of American businessman Henry Mauriss who is believed to be interested in buying a club in the top flight.
It is understood that his approach is genuine but it comes a little late in the day for the Magpies as Staveley and her Middle East consortium are nearing the end game of their proposal to be new owners.
