Following a brilliantly scrappy 2-1 home win over Bournemouth, defender DeAndre Yedlin has been at the centre of deserved praise.
The USA international scored the equalising goal with a fantastic diving header which erupted St. James’ Park on an excellent afternoon, with Steve Bruce’s side winning consecutive Premier League games for the first time this season.

Despite the Magpies’ glaring issues going forward, they’ve managed to bag five goals in two games, with defenders scoring the lion’s share.
While this may be a sign that actual attackers aren’t providing much of a goal threat, the likes of Joelinton and Allan Saint-Maximin have been impressing more and more each game – but supporters have reserved their praise for Yedlin – who put on a Man of the Match performance to drag Newcastle over the line.
The 26-year-old has only made six appearances this season, but supporters will be hoping for plenty more after his recent display, taking to Twitter and rightfully praising the former Sunderland defender.
