It’s been a summer of would-be takeovers at St James Park, but is this the one to finally happen?

Former Chelsea and Manchester United executive Peter Kenyon launched a fresh bid for the club all the way back in late September, soon making confident statements over a 46-page dossier which detailed his plans for the club (via Daily Mail).

Kenyon’s consortium, GACP Sports, also have a stake in Bordeaux and looked in steady form to complete the takeover until this new wave of uncertainty hit the air in the boardroom.

According to Newcastle Chronicle journalist Mark Douglas, there’s been no breakthrough in negotiations despite a lot of noise being previously made.

What doesn’t bode well for United is the fact Kenyon tried to buy the Magpies last year as well with another investment fund, but that didn’t work out either.

After a flurry of potential takeover bids, including ones from Amanda Staveley’s PCP Partners and Dubai-based Bin Zayed Group, Newcastle fans have had enough – and they took to Twitter to voice their discontent.
