According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United are keen to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Danny Rose on a permanent basis in the summer transfer window. Unsurprisingly lots of Magpies have taken to social media to share their views.
Jose Mourinho has decided Rose won’t be a part of his future plans and as such, it looks like his long spell with the north London club is finally coming to an end (the Northern Echo).
The 29-year-old only made 5 appearances under the Portuguese manager before being shipped out on loan to St. James’ Park for the rest of the season (Transfermarkt).
The England international turns 30 in July and the report claims that as Spurs don’t want Rose to sign a new contract, it is likely the Geordies will be able to get him for a far cheaper price. Rose has played in 5 games in the Premier League for Steve Bruce’s Black and Whites, making 1.4 tackles per game, completing 1.2 clearances on average, with a pass success rating of 77.7% (WhoScored).
In comparison, fellow loan signing Jetro Willems featured in 19 games for Bruce in the English top-flight, averaging 1.9 tackles per game, making 2 clearances, and completing 1.1 dribbles on average. The Dutch defender also has a penchant for scoring screamers, netting a stunning finish against Liverpool towards the beginning of the season (WhoScored).

Non story…Willems has option to buy clause for a bargain £9m and was one of the better performers before his injury….whereas no buyout clause in Rose and has not impressed in the few games he played….
