Many Magpies reacted to two posts from Newcastle United’s official Twitter account wishing Isaac Hayden a happy birthday.
After moving to St James’ Park from Arsenal for just £2.61m back in 2016, the 25-year-old has featured in over 100 appearances for the Black and Whites, scoring 5 goals and providing 9 assists in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
Hayden has played in 24 games in the Premier League under Mags boss Steve Bruce, scoring 1 goal, creating 1 assist, averaging at least 2 tackles per game, completing 1.4 interceptions, and clearing 1.4 balls on average this season (WhoScored).
The former England U21 international spent a season on loan with Hull City during his time with the Gunners, scoring 1 goal and providing 1 assist throughout the campaign. His market value stands at £9m via Transfermarkt.
Hayden’s current contract with the Tyneside club is set to expire next year and it remains to be seen whether or not the board will offer him an extension.

The club’s tweets resulted in loads of replies from the Toon Army, with one supporter claiming the midfielder is “one of our best signings in recent seasons.” Another fan added Hayden is “totally underrated.”
