Newcastle United: Flashback to Martin Dubravka’s debut heroics against Manchester United has supporters gushing

Responding to a video posted by the club’s official Twitter account, plenty of Newcastle United supporters have been in full praise regarding goalkeeper Martin Dubravka’s heroics at home to Manchester United back in 2018, with some fans since going on to hail the ‘absolute gem‘ on social media.

Dubravka, who originally signed on loan from Sparta Prague in January 2018 before completing a permanent deal the following summer, made his debut at home to Manchester United two years ago in February, a match where he pulled off save after save resulting in the Magpies eventually nicking a 1-0 victory at St James’ Park.

The Slovakian, who managed to stop the likes of Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Ashley Young, has since gone on to attract praise for his performance due to the club account’s post celebrating his two-year anniversary at the club. Former boss Rafa Benitez brought in Dubravka before his last season on Tyneside, with one fan stating that he ‘unearthed an absolute gem‘.
