Ryan Fraser has blasted his teammates at Newcastle United for crumbling to a 5-2 loss to Leeds United in the Premier League at Elland Road last night.
Speaking to NUFC TV after the game, the Scotland international said that conceding the goals at the end was “not acceptable” and that his team showed a little bit of “naivety” with the score level at 2-2 with just under 15 minutes to go.
Should Fraser start for Newcastle?
Fraser right to point out Newcastle collapse
Fraser was right to point out how the St. James’ Park faithful just seemed to collapse toward the end of the match, given that they were level against Marcelo Bielsa’s side before they conceded three late goals to Stuart Dallas, Ezgjan Alioski and Jack Harrison.
The Scotland international himself did not have a bad game at all, grabbing the assist for the goal by Ciaran Clark, as he also won no fewer than seven of his duels and made three key passes in the clash against the Whites, earning him a very respectable 7.4 rating on Sofascore, the highest out of any of his teammates to have set foot onto the pitch.
Nonetheless, the overall performance of the Tyneside club was simply not good enough, giving Steve Bruce a lot to think about going into their home game against Fulham on Saturday night.
