After new loan signing Valentino Lazaro published a tweet online explaining how he was working ‘precisely towards Arsenal‘, some Newcastle United supporters have been replying with support for the versatile winger ahead of his potential full Premier League debut following the winter break.
Lazaro, who signed on loan from Serie A league leaders Inter Milan in January, is arguably Newcastle’s best signing of the window, having been likened to fellow Austrian star David Alaba in the past (Bundesliga). The 23-year-old, who can play either as a wing-back or midfielder, could be seen as a potential answer to the Magpies’ left-wing conundrum, with Christian Atsu having been their only senior natural winger on that side.
As well as this, Paul Dummett and Jetro Willems have both been ruled out for the rest of the season, allowing Lazaro to potentially assume a regular left-back spot depending on the form of fellow loanee Danny Rose.
