Newcastle would be wise to seal a deal for this out-of-favour Premier League striker

Ulloa

Newcastle United fans are back in good spirits in 2017 following their promotion back to the Premier League, and are now looking forward to the opening day of the season.

Rafa Benitez has brought some form of stability to the club in the last 12 months, and sealing the Championship title on the final day of last season will be a real boost for the club.

This week in the Transfer Tavern has seen talk turn to new signings, with the Toon expected to make one or two big money moves as the window progresses.

With the club looking set to miss out on Tammy Abraham, our landlord thinks that there is another big striker they should move for, and that man is current Leicester City striker Leonardo Ulloa.

The big striker has fallen well out of favour at the King Power and will no doubt be on the move this summer, and he is someone Newcastle should be looking at with serious consideration.

Ulloa can hold the ball up, is great in the air, and crucially knows where the back of the net is. He was a key component of Leicester’s title winning season, and his experience and knowhow could be of real use to the Toon.

With Leicester now not in the Champions League after last years fairytale, Ulloa has little incentive to stay with the club, and a move to Newcastle could well work out for him, giving him the chance to rediscover his form and get minutes on the pitch.
