The Tottenham fans in the Transfer are still not convinced that their side will finish in the top four this season. The Lilywhites have been comfortable for the last few weeks, but a late resurgence from Chelsea does pose some level of threat.

Of course, Chelsea will be required to effectively win every one of their remaining games, whilst Spurs will be forced to drop points – but Mauricio Pochettino clearly can’t take his foot off of the gas.

As a result, whilst he likely would have been hoping to utilise a few fringe players during the final weeks of the season, that now isn’t the best course of action.

Instead, he needs to call upon some of his more consistent performers – and that could even mean recalling a few players that he has been less committed to in recent weeks.

With that said, Pochettino must start these 2 Tottenham players for the rest of the season…

Toby Alderweireld

Toby Alderweireld’s career has taken a strange turn this season.

Since his arrival in North London, he has been one of Tottenham’s best and most consistent performers, but that has changed this season.

Injury forced him out of the fold for a prolonged period, but since his return, he hasn’t regained his significance.

The reasons behind that are unclear, as is his long-term future, but it’s tough to argue against the suggestion that he is arguably Tottenham’s best central defender.

Whatever the reason behind his lack of action, Pochettino must put that to the side. If he’s fit, he has got to play.

Son Heung-min

Son Heung-min has had a wonderful season.

He has been the spark to turn more than a few games around for the Lilywhites, and his goalscoring record speaks for itself.

Despite his significance, he has been a sub a handful of times this season, and given the quality on offer in the attack, Pochettino may well have been planning to give a few others a chance.

However, the Argentine can’t take his foot off the gas, and starting Son will give Spurs the best chance of success.
