Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait for their side to get going this season as they make their return to the Premier League.
After a campaign away from the top flight with them playing in the Championship, the Magpies are back and they’ll be looking to return with a bang against Spurs on the opening day.
For sure, they’ll be aiming for survival first of all but if and when they achieve that, the aim will then surely be to try and get back up towards the European spots.
Rafa Benitez, then, knows that a long-term project is in the offing in the north-east and he’ll certainly be looking for his players to step up and be counted during the coming campaign.
Indeed, Jamaal Lascelles will be one of those expected to step up and his latest tweet suggests he is more than focused:
