Our Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern are seriously looking forward to seeing what their side is going to do this season with them really splashing the cash this summer.
The men from Goodison Park knew that they’d need to spend big to try and get amongst the biggest sides in the league and the top four and that is certainly what they have done.
The likes of Michael Keane, Jordan Pickford, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Sandro Ramirez have all arrived – amongst others – for a serious outlay – though that has been balanced by the huge fee that got for selling Romelu Lukaku.
For sure, then, it’s an exciting time for the club and Ronald Koemans’ ambition is clearly shining through – particularly when you consider this stat – via Ben Grounds on Twitter:
In signing Sigurdsson, Ronald Koeman has spent £227.4m in 14 months at Everton, £90m more than David Moyes did in 11 years at the club #EFC

Fans, then, have reacted to this and so, with that in mind, here is the best of the reaction:
Sure, but the market has changed considerably since then. Not a fair comparison.

True, but Everton have also ‘traded’ well. EFC will have made more than £200m by the close of this window/over 15 months. £170m to date.

All that matters is net spend – the rest is completely irrelevant

If you’re only interested in finances that is. If you’re interested in improving the club, he has spent enough to justify top 5, maybe 4

Different times though…

Good stat Ben

In all fairness Moyes didn’t recoup nearly 150 million on 2 players within 12 months of each other
