Spurs were held in midweek by Brighton and Hove Albion as their march towards a top four spot halted somewhat, but Mauricio Pochettino will be confident of wrapping up a Champions League spot come the end of the season.

The Londoners have been excellent in the main during this campaign, and their style of football has been well received by many onlookers, with many in the game thinking it won’t be too far off before they can realistically challenge for the Premier League title.

Our landlord here in the Tavern is on board with just how good Spurs can be, but he thinks the club could do with adding some quality while also dispersing of a few players who simply don’t seem up to the task.

With that in mind, we’ve taken a look at one potential in and one potential out for the club this summer…

Out – Moussa Sissoko

The French midfielder has not lived up to the standards he previously set at Newcastle, and his game time has been limited to mainly appearances off the bench so far.

Sissoko, who has looked short of confidence and lacked any sort of goal threat during his time with the club, could well fancy a move himself, after falling down the pecking order at the club and seeing Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura move ahead of him.

It would make sense for Sissoko to seek a move, and it might well give his career something of a timely boost.

In – Marek Hamsik

Spurs could well do with adding some genuine world class talent to their ranks, and what better player to bring in that Napoli captain Hamsik.

The midfielder has been a revelation in Italy, and has become one of the standout performers for the Naples club during his time there.

While he does love the club, the challenge of the Premier League could be of intrigue to the midfield ace, and he would represent an excellent option to come in for Dele Alli, while also being available should the club decide to move Moussa Dembele on.
