The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are a pretty happy bunch at the moment. The Red Devils have enjoyed a good few weeks on the transfer front, and they’ve moved more quickly than many of their rivals thus far.
That’s exactly what they need to do, of course, given their mixed fortunes last season. They lacked the quality to compete with Man City in the English top flight, and so moving quickly to land a few big names is essential. Now, though, they must kick on.
We recently made the argument that in order for Man Utd to jump further forward in the race for the title, Juventus star Paulo Dybala would be a brilliant signing. Granted, as we noted, a move would be difficult given Juventus’ likely unwillingness to negotiate – but they managed to pry Paul Pogba from them a few years ago, and so if they made a huge offer, the Italian side may have little choice.
We moved to gauge the interest of the Man Utd fans regarding the deal in the form of a poll, and it’s fair to say that the results were very interesting.
It seems that Dybala, who is rated at £99 million by Transfer Markt, is a very popular man amongst Man Utd fans, with a whopping 86% of polled supporters voting in favour of a potential deal.
Clearly, then, fans love Dybala, and it’s easy to understand why. He truly is one of Europe’s best players, offering dynamic dribbling, running, dribbling, goals, energy. There’s nothing he can’t do – and best of all, he’s still developing.
He would demand a huge investment, but Man Utd fans clearly view any such investment as a good thing.
