Tottenham fans here in the Tavern are bitterly disappointed with the weekend’s 2-2 draw with Rochdale, although there were some positives to take away from the fixture.
Our local residents were praying for a cup run to have a positive effect on their Premier League chances, as a top-four finish is looking uncertain for Spurs, but they’ll have to wait to see if they are to progress any further.
Mauricio Pochettino gave a run out to many of Spurs’ fringe players in the clash, with a notable inclusion being summer signing Lucas Moura in his first start for Tottenham Hotspur.
Encouragingly, it was the brilliance of the Brazilian that anchored a fightback for Spurs at a time when a cup upset looked to be on the cards, as his strike saw the Spotland Stadium stunned to silence. However, it wasn’t just the goal from the former PSG man that caught the attention of Spurs fans, as it was the pace and trickery that excited the masses of away support on multiple occasions.

Following the club’s post, fans were quick to praise the Brazilian for his performance in yesterday’s game, as they hope to see plenty more goals from the 25-year-old in the future. He’s clearly expecting big things from his tenure, and the fans are too.
He’s quickly becoming a fan favourite already, with one supporter lauding him as their second best player after just one game – with many other fans responding with equally positive reviews.
