Lilywhites here in the Tavern are in fine voice after some of their more fringe players turned on the style in the final game of the Champions League group stage last night.
Tottenham’s domestic form seems to have gone down the drain in recent times, but the same can’t be said about their European performances, having breezed past the minor tasks of Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund on their way to an unbeaten group-stage.
After qualifying with a game to spare, last night in their 3-0 win against group stragglers Apoel Nicosia, Mauricio Pochettino was in dreamland, after being given the luxury to harvest some more young talent while giving the fringe players a chance to make a name for themselves under the European lights.
One particular player who grasped the game firmly with both hands was French winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, after only featuring 3 times in the first-team all season he managed to grab a starting berth and a goal for his troubles, in what could now be a revitalized Spurs career for the youngster.
Of course, with the Tottenham club’s Twitter account, you’re given a groovy GIF to go with the goal you score, which came as some relief for the 22-year-old as he took to his personal Twitter account to share his feelings on scoring a much needed goal for the club.
