Super rich Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala are planning a stunning bid for Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic.
Caughtoffside.com reports that Anzhi are willing to pay £25m for the Serbian, whilst also doubling his £90,000-a-week wages.
This would amount to more than £37m over a four year period, still some way off what Anzhi agreed to pay former Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto’o earlier this week.
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is unlikely to consider any bid for Vidic irrespective of how high it is, though it remains to be seen whether Vidic’s head could be turned by the lucrative contract on offer.
Earlier this month, a representative of Vidic revealed interest from Italian giants Juventus who are continuing to rebuild the squad which finished a very disappointing seventh place last season. However, when asked, Vidic’s agent dismissed claims that a move to Turin was an option for the defender.
Real Madrid were also linked with a move for Vidic but so far no bid has been submitted.
Anzhi are keen to make their mark and see attracting the world’s best players as easily within their means. Attempting to return the captain of Manchester United to the Russian Premier League however may prove to be little more than over-reaching.

United captain’s not goin’ to anywhere with any amount..
anzhi shouldn’t bite more than they can chew…..thinking of signing vidic is way out of bound they should put their money somewhere else.
Get a grip, Anzhi. You’re small fry, regardless of your bank balance
