PL veteran could be set for shock Swansea move

This move would definitely come as a shock to the punters in the Football Transfer Tavern…

Swansea City are struggling this season – and it is clear for all to see that Bob Bradley needs to do some serious work on his squad in the January transfer window.

Several names have been passed around the Tavern as potential targets – but this one was markedly absent…

According to the Sun, Bob Bradley has revealed that there is a chance that Dimitar Berbatov could be in line for a Swansea move – with the ex-Man Utd forward “on his radar”.

Apparently, Bradley said: “I’ve met him a few times and know he’s anxious to get back in the Premier League. Everybody in our club knows that, so when there is discussions his name is mentioned”.

This move would come as a real shock – but it actually does make a lot of sense.

Berbatov is 35-years-old, granted, but he was never a striker that would run around and chase down balls. Berbatov was essentially a gaol hanging poacher – and he was absolutely fantastic at it.

The way he plays means that his age is somewhat irrelevant – and Bradley will know exactly what he’s getting with the Bulgarian. His most successful spell was with Man Utd, where he managed to bag nearly 50 goals in a 4-year tenure.

Our landlord thinks that if this deal comes through – it could be a masterstroke.

The Swansea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are all for this deal…
