Player Ratings & Man Of The Match Poll

Van der Sar – 8. Rarely tested, but tidy when called upon, and prevented the
home side going 1-0 up after Evra’s lazy pass.

Rafael – 7. Didn’t put a foot wrong, a player really growing in confident and
assurance.

Smalling – 7.Has impressed in every game since joining the club.

Vidic – 7. Solid, but never 100% without Ferdinand’s guidance at his side.

Evra – 6. Ineffective going forward, and almost gave away a goal.

Scholes – 8. Calm, assured, at his ease anywhere in world.

Carrick – 7. Much improved recently, defensive midfield may turn out to be
his best position.

Nani – 6. Lacked usual threat, and didn’t last long.

Fletcher – 8. Energy, guile, vision and the opening goal. This position
seemed to suit him. Man of the match.

Obertan – 8. Another youngster discovering confidence and his own style of
play. Scored a cracker!

Berbatov – 6. Isolated as the lone striker, grew increasingly frustrated. May
still not have forgiven Fergie for substituting him against Spurs.

Park (for Nani, 29) – 7. Bright, assisted Obertan’s goal. Continued from
very impressive weekend display.

Bebe (for Fletcher, 62) – 7.
Full of running, and took his goal well.

Fabio (for Evra, 80) – 6. No time to make an impact.

Not used: Kuszczak, Brown, O’Shea, Hernandez.

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
