It’s one of England’s most hotly contested rivalries, with the two North London clubs expected to put on quite the showing. We’re expecting a full house in the Transfer Tavern, and the pressure will certainly be on both sides to perform.
Tottenham are in a strange position this time around in that they will be the clear favourites heading into the game. They’ve enjoyed a stellar start to the season, whilst Arsenal have stumbled under Arsene Wenger.
The Lilywhites can’t take anything for granted, though, and Mauricio Pochettino must ensure that every player is up to the challenge today. They’ve won frequently in recent weeks, of course, but this game could demand a different type of player, and so perhaps even a few changes could be made.
Specifically, Pochettino could decide to drop a few players in favour of a couple of differing options.

Serge Aurier
Serge Aurier has made a decent start to life in a Tottenham shirt, but a few of the fans in the Transfer Tavern remain unconvinced.
He has been susceptible to the occasional mistake, whilst his disciplinary record is also concerning supporters somewhat. He’s clearly a very talented player, and he’ll get there in the end, but our landlord thinks that patience is needed.
Given the fire and fury that is likely to surround this game, it makes sense on this occasion, however, to opt for someone on which Pochettino can completely rely. Kieran Trippier certainly falls under that banner, offering defensively solidity in place of the Frenchman.
Moussa Sissoko
Moussa Sissoko has had a great season so far, but his recent performances haven’t been particularly great.
He remains a decent option, but he has yet to regain the form that he enjoyed at Newcastle, and until that happens, his position in this side will remain under threat.
Tottenham have a lot of depth available now both in the midfield and the attack, and his position is likely to come under increased scrutiny over the coming weeks as a result.
Pochettino will want to pick his best team against Arsenal, and the Frenchman likely isn’t included in that vein.
