The Tottenham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are having a pretty poor time of it as of late…

Defeat against Chelsea last weekend came as the latest disappointment in what has been a very underwhelming season for the Lilywhites.

After coming close to capturing the Premier League last season, Tottenham have thus far failed to follow up on their success – and have now slipped to 5th in the Premier League.

Pochettino’s success came last year in that he was able to get the best out of a squad that, in truth, wasn’t as good as some of the other main contenders in the Premier League – but he hasn’t been able to recapture that this season.

There are a number of players that, no matter how hard Pochettino tries, are simply not playing well enough – and the Argentine boss has a lot of work to turn their seasons around.

With that said, Pochettino really needs to get more out of these 2 Tottenham stars

 Moussa Sissoko

Moussa Sissoko has been dropped out of the Tottenham first team in recent weeks – and it’s easy to see why.

His performances at Newcastle were always inconsistent, and it would appear as though he has taken that trait along with him to London.

He has had a few decent games in a Spurs shirt, but nothing particularly out of the ordinary – and for a player that was bought for a pretty hefty price tag; you would certainly expect more.

When he’s on form he is unstoppable – and it is up to Mauricio Pochettino to ensure that he gets back in top form.

 Vincent Janssen

Vincent Janssen is a curious case.

He was signed over the summer and looked likely to be a stellar signing after an impressive season last year with AZ.

However, at present, it just hasn’t worked out for him.

He has fluffed a number of chances, and failed to impress when giving an opportunity when Harry Kane was injured.

There is definitely a good striker in there somewhere, but he hasn’t been good enough yet – and Pochettino must change that.
