The Argentine boss has impressed over the last couple of years, but even by his high standards – Tottenham have been well above par this season.

Unlike most teams in the Premier League, they have been able to bring their form from last season through – and they have managed to build quite a consistent base across all competitions.

However, with that said, their team is still not complete – and the Argentine will always be looking to improve his squad.

Central midfield is, arguably, one of the positions in which he has the most depth – but is it the position in which they have the most quality?

Beyond the likes of Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama and perhaps Mousa Dembele – Tottenham don’t really have any top level stars that they can call upon.

With that said, Pochettino should look to secure a deal for these 2 central midfielders in January

Isco

Isco is, without a doubt, one of the best young midfielders in Europe – and Tottenham would undoubtedly consider his signing a coup; but our landlord thinks that they could pull it off.

He is currently in and out of the Real Madrid first-team, and Spurs could certainly offer him first team football.

What’s more, his style of play suits the Lilywhites perfectly – with the Spaniard very much in the ilk of a tiki-taka style footballer.

Dele Alli is great, of course, but Isco is a whole level above the young Englishman – and together they could form a deadly duo.

Morgan Schneiderlin

Morgan Schneiderlin hasn’t been at his best since joining Man Utd – but if there is one man to get the Frenchman back to his best, it is Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine saw Schneiderlin’s most impressive period whilst he was with Southampton, and the midfielder would no doubt love to get a chance to play underneath the ex-Saints boss once again.

He looks surplus to requirements at Man Utd – and Pochettino would struggle to do better than to snap him up.
