Spurs, for the first time this season, have begun to stutter slightly and our local Lilywhites fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping they can get things back on track as soon as possible.
Recent draws to Bournemouth, Leicester City and West Brom have seen the club slide away from the title race to be three points behind those right at the top and whilst that is by no means a huge gap, things need to turn around sharpish before it gets any bigger.
They travel to Arsenal this weekend knowing a win would at least see them draw level with the Gunners and that could be the spark to reignite what was looking like and still could be a possible title winning season.
Mauricio Pochettino will know that he needs his side to start performing again soon, too, and may have seen some weaknesses in his side that he’ll want to address in January.
Our landlord thinks this is the case and reckons these TWO Germans would be ideal acquisitions…
Julian Brandt
Brandt could be Germany’s next main striker which, when you think about it, suggests he is going to be quite the player.
With Harry Kane’s injury we have seen Vincent Janssen try his best to score goals but aside from penalties he just hasn’t.
How long Spurs persist with the Dutchman remains to be seen but signing Brandt would at least allow for a very decent contingency plan.
Niklas Sule
When Tottenham saw Toby Alderweireld get taken off by injury in the West Brom game worries set in about who would replace him.
In the end it seems that Eric Dier is the one to be back-up, ahead of Kevin Wimmer, but shouldn’t Spurs have another centre-half instead of using the England international for two positions.
It would make things easier and Sule would certainly be an answer.
