It is arguable the transfer was a long shot anyway considering Son is nailed down to a 2025 contract and isn’t getting any younger.
Chairman Daniel Levy would demand extortionate fees for the sale of Tottenham’s star asset and it is very questionable whether Real president Florentino Perez would sanction such sums for a player with little sell-on value.
