Everton walked away from possible Kieran Tierney deal

Everton managed to add a number of new players to their side, however, it has been revealed that they had failed to land one of their original targets.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the Toffees failed to land Celtic’s Kieran Tierney after deciding to pursue other transfer targets.

The Goodison Park outfit were interested in the left-back, however, once they found out the Scottish Premiership champions valuation for their star they decided to pursue other options.

Marco Silva’s side landed Barcelona’s Lucas Digne instead, with the Frenchman currently holding the starting spot in the team.

The new manager made it clear that he wanted to add to the left-back position with just Leighton Baines being the only recognised player available at the time.

The Toffees also added the likes of Richarlison, Bernard, Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes to their side as they look to move on from last season’s disappointing campaign.

The Verdict:

Tierney had been heavily linked with a move to Goodison Park for a long period of the summer, however, Celtic remain firm over their stance about him.

The youngster has been impressing many onlookers with his performances for the Bhoys and it is believed he will make a move to a Premier League outfit in the future.

However, it appears that the Scottish side’s valuation of their player is currently too high for Everton to consider him, although that does not mean they could make a rerun for him should Digne not work out.
