Newcastle United: Magpies react to Federico Fernandez’s Twitter post

Loads of Magpies reacted to a Twitter post from Newcastle United’s Federico Fernandez celebrating the win against Southampton on Saturday. 

Fernandez played the full 90′ minutes against the Saints, completing 51 out of 62 passes at an accuracy percentage of 82%, and making 6 clearances and blocking 1 shot (SofaScore).

A large section of the Toon Army have been heaping praise on Fernandez in response to his tweet, with one eager Magpie comparing the Argentinian centre-back to former Newcastle defensive stalwart Fabricio Coloccini. Others have simply urged the defender to sign a new contract.

Coloccini played in a staggering 275 games for the Geordie side and scored 7 goals and provided 2 assists during his 8 year stint in Tyneside (Transfermarkt).
