The midfielder joined the League One outfit from Sheffield United in the summer and has made a positive impact in his first few months with the club.

He has been an ever-present so far for them as they have stormed up to fourth in the table (BBC Sport), starting 13 league games in total and captaining the side in 12 of those (via Transfermarkt).

His latest appearance came in the Cod Army’s 1-0 victory against MK Dons, and the official Fleetwood Town Twitter account posted a stat after the game which highlighted his influence on the game. Indeed, he completed a huge 118 passes in the match, with 27 of those coming in the final third.

Coutts was well known for his passing and his ability to control games whilst at Sheffield United too. He was at the heart of the Blades’ promotion from League One in 2017 playing in 43 games (Transfermarkt), so their fans were not surprised when they saw his passing stats from Fleetwood’s latest game.
