Sheffield United: Fans drool over Billy Sharp’s latest update

Sheffield United captain Billy Sharp has given fans a glimpse of first team training, as players returned to Shirecliffe on Tuesday for the first time since the nationwide lockdown began.
Sharp took over the Blades’ Instagram to keep supporters up-to-date with all the shenanigans at the United training ground.
The club’s official Twitter account posted a clip of the skipper vlogging himself before he arrived at the Firsthill Crescent complex in the morning.
Sharp said “the training kit is back on. Back to the training ground we go for small group training.”
He added “it’s been a tough eight weeks but hopefully we’re starting to see a little light at the end of the tunnel.”
Earlier this week, shareholders voted in a unanimous decision to begin the first stage of the Premier League’s plans to resume the season, more commonly known as ‘Project Restart.’
Despite the fact Chris Wilder’s side only gained promotion from the Championship last year, they have surged to seventh in the table, joint with Wolverhampton Wanderers on 43 points, although the South Yorkshire outfit also have a game in hand.
Executives are expected to vote again on Friday to work out when the season will kick off behind closed doors (via the Yorkshire Post).
Wilder’s men have been carrying out individual fitness programmes at home, as they have been unable to link up due to the ongoing pandemic, but the squad are now allowed to train together in small groups.
Unsurprisingly, loads of United fans drooled over Sharp’s “fantastic” update, with one fan tweeting to say the skipper is an “absolute club legend.”
