To the Tottenham fans, Mousa Dembele is a vital cog in Mauricio Pochettino’s football machine and they’re delighted that he’s still a Lillywhite, even if he is starting to lose his legs. The Belgian came off the bench against Fulham on Saturday and controlled the game straight away, making Spurs fans realise how useful he is to them.

Saturday proved to be a great reminder for how good Dembele is and after some of his performances last season it’s hard to believe that the club ever considered letting him leave, whether he’s losing his legs or not. Even if the 30-year-old took on a new role as a fringe player who came on to see out the last 30 minutes of games, he has to remain in North London are far as the supporters are concerned.
One of Dembele’s best ever games in a Spurs shirt came last season in the Champions League when Pochettino’s side travelled to Turin to face Juventus in their last sixteen first leg tie. Tottenham came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 and Dembele was the outstanding man of the match with plenty of supporters hailing it as the best indic=vidual performance they had ever seen. The fans are now ready to see Dembele take a bit of a step back, but they’re far from ready to see him sold.
You can read the Lillywhites’ verdict on Dembele here:
Well played Mousa, in both games you have come on the pitch you have single-handedly taken control of the game just by your presence being on the field.
Absolutely unthinkable that we even considered letting you go this summer, once again you have proved your importance to us.

Mousa the thought of you leaving Spurs to go anywhere brings a cold winter chill to us Spurs fans

You were instrumental soon as you came on. What a player…

Spurs are all over the place in midfield unless Mousa is on the pitch. He's calm, that ball sticks to his feet like glue, he controls the game and we can NOT afford to let this legend go.
