Tottenham fans eager to see Lamela given more minutes

Last night saw yet another Erik Lamela masterclass take place and the supporters will be wondering what the man has to do to get a start in the Premier League. The Argentine was a constant threat against Watford, jinking around the box and making himself a nuisance before he scored The Lilywhites’ second goal of the game and bagged a penalty in the shootout win.

Lamela is probably the most in-form player in the Tottenham squad at the moment and it seems ridiculous that Mauricio Pochettino has been so reluctant to start the tricky winger. The 26-year-old has now got himself a tidy three goals and one assist in five appearances this season and he’ll be keen to show what he can do away at Huddersfield this weekend as Tottenham aim to gain momentum with another win.
There have been moments where a lot of Tottenham fans would have discarded Lamela in a heartbeat but it looks like Poch’s patience with his countryman has paid off as Lamela has been in stellar form since he got back into the picture at Tottenham. On the final day of last season, he grabbed a brace in a 5-4 win over Leicester City and his continued goalscoring form this season is only showing that he has got what it takes to be a real threat for Spurs.
