Tottenham fans on Twitter knew they wouldn’t win when Vorm came on last night

Michel Vorm looks to be past it. The former Swansea man came to the club back in summer 2014 and at the time it looked like he was a strong backup option to Hugo Lloris. Now, though, four years have gone by and the fans hate seeing Vorm in the net.

Yesterday, Tottenham bottled it. The Lilywhites needed a win to keep their hopes of qualifying from the group alive and realistic. However, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side leading 2-1 and just ten minutes on the clock, Hugo Lloris came out to intercept a ball through to Hirving Lozano, but the Mexican beat him to it and when the Frenchman clattered through the PSV man the only colour card he was ever being shown was red.

That saw Michel Vorm introduced to the action and everyone who follows Spurs knew that it wasn’t going to end 2-1 from that point. Heung-Min Son was hooked for Vorm as a ten-man Spurs looed to try and defend their marginal lead. A Luuk De Jong goal just six minutes later confirmed what Tottenham fans expectations and now they face a huge uphill battle, needing wins at Wembley against PSV and Inter and at The Nou Camp against Barcelona if they want to stand any chance of progressing through their group.
