Nathan Holland caught the eye of West Ham United supporters once again, when the U23s faced Valencia B in the Premier League International Cup group stages.
He scored the only goal of the game, as he picked up the ball and raced away from the chasing pack, before sticking his effort in at the near post, just out of the goalkeeper’s reach:

The 21-year-old also previously scored from a great strike against Brentford B, having already got a landmark strike by bagging the first-ever U23s goal at London Stadium – with both goals having caused many fans to stand up and pay attention.
There are now calls for Holland to be given a chance in the first-team, with some fans beginning to grow impatient with Manuel Pellegrini, as they want to see him given a chance.
He has only ever made one first-team appearance, which came in the final 28 minutes of a 3-0 Carabao Cup win against Bolton Wanderers in 2017, as per Transfermarkt.
A selection of Twitter reaction to the goal, including posts from impressed West Ham fans, can be seen below:

It’s almost as if Holland and Diangana are good enough for the first team
